MPP Vaugeois calls on government to provide transparency to Ontario’s seniors following news about police investigation

THUNDER BAY — NDP Shadow Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, MPP Lise Vaugeois (Thunder Bay—Superior North), released the following statement upon the recent police investigation connected to the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility:

“It is deeply troubling, but not shocking, that this government continues to operate in the shadows while refusing to provide transparency or accountability to Ontarians. Seniors are one of the most vulnerable populations in our province, and now, Ford and his government are shutting the lights out on them.

“With the Legislature now gone until October and new restrictions weakening access to freedom of information requests, who knows what the government is now doing behind closed doors. The fact that a police investigation is underway is a serious red flag. Premier Ford and Minister Cho need to come clean to the people of Ontario.”
