NDP response to Ford cancelling paid sick days

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles issued the following statement in response to reports that the Ford government will be ending the paid sick days program next week:

“This government is no friend to workers.

Nobody in Ontario should have to go to work sick, or leave a sick child, because they can’t afford not to.

The Ontario NDP has been fighting for 10 permanent sick days for every single Ontario worker, plus an additional, government-funded 14 paid sick days during a public health emergency such as a pandemic.”
