Erica Englert nominated as NDP candidate in Haldimand–Norfolk

HALDIMAND – NORFOLK – New Democrats gathered to nominate Erica Englert to carry the NDP banner for the upcoming provincial election. Erica is a lifelong Dunnville resident and one of the Ontario NDP’s youngest candidates at 19 years old. She knows what the people of Haldimand-Norfolk need and what issues affect them the most, having experienced firsthand the consequences of the education and healthcare cuts imposed by the Ford government.

“I am very honoured to be the Ontario NDP candidate for Haldimand – Norfolk,” said Erica. “Navigating rural life (especially as a young person), I have noticed a lot of inequalities between our smaller communities and those in larger cities. Education, healthcare, housing, and basic public services are not commodities to be taken away at the whim of a politician. This is why I chose to join the fight for the NDP, and put my name forward in my home riding of Haldimand-Norfolk.”

“I am very excited to have Erica join the Ontario NDP team,” says Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles. “Erica is a passionate and dedicated advocate who will bring fresh perspectives to Queen’s Park. Together we’ll build homes, hire doctors, and fix schools to deliver an Ontario full of opportunities.”

Quick Facts:
